Photon Energy Connects 7.5 MWp Solar PV Power Plant to Grid in Romania
Amsterdam / Shenzhen, 13 April 2016 – Global solar powersolutions provider Photon Energy has entered into a cooperationagreement with China Electronics GreatWall Energy (“GreatWall”),the producer of Satcon® central inverters.
Both companies agreed to cooperate closely on invertermaintenance and service as well as their distribution mainly inEurope and Australia, including product certifications and ongoingupgrades based on Photon Energy’s extensive service experience.
Following the bankruptcy of Satcon Technology Corp. in 2013,Photon Energy’s Inverter Cardio team has been the leading serviceprovider to the installed base of Satcon inverters in Europe.GreatWall acquired all IP rights following the bankruptcy of SatconTechnology Corp. in 2013 and has been manufacturing Satcon®inverters in Shenzen mainly for the Chinese market.
Based on the agreement, Photon Energy will have access to spareparts, software and technical upgrades such as the LVRTfunctionality and ongoing training for its service team forGreatWall and Satcon® inverters. „We already providemaintenance and repair services for more than 150 MW of Satconinverters in Europe. Through our cooperation with GreatWall we canexpand the scope and speed of our services to ourcustomers“, says Photon Energy CEOGeorg Hotar. “Based on our strong belief in theirquality and performance we are looking forward to deploying Satcon®inverters in future PV projects in Europe and Australia”,Hotar explains.
As its service partner for Europe and Australia, GreatWall willprovide Photon Energy’s Inverter Cardio team, which specialises oncentral PV inverter services, with all necessary training requiredto provide qualified commissioning, maintenance and repair servicesto the entire range of PV inverters manufactured by GreatWall.
